Songs still sound terribad

I'm trying to convert this song, as well as the entire THPS3 soundtrack for HLDJ:

Almost all of these involve guitar. Now the server I'm playing sets the voice quality to the highest setting and enables HLDJ, everything plays fine. I used this guy's conversion preset for Goldwave:

Even after that, they still sounded like crap. So then I reduced the bass and the treble in Goldwave. They still sounded like shit. Then I moved the "equalization bar" to the left some, lowering the overall volume. Now they sound even worse. I have absolutely no idea what to do at this point, because as far as I know everyone else on the server is doing the same thing and their stuff sounds clear.

EDIT: Never mind, I just realized the preset I used sucked anyway.
