Help with using HLDJ

win7 and voice_input

Postby romcio4 » Fri Jan 11, 2013 11:20 am

I've encountered a problem with hldj since it doesn't seem to create a voice_input and every time right after loading song i want to see if it is loaded it says Current = none - next > (some other song) i use cs 1.6 and win 7 64 bit with disabled check for admin stuff (no authorization is to be made to modify files, yet still somehow it is affected...)
1) Does HLDJ launch the game correctly for you?
2) Does "HLDJ Loaded Successfully" appear in console on starting the game (with no errors)?
3) What is the console output after selecting a song, or issuing other HLDJ commands such as "hldj_next"?

hldj_cmd_g.cfg successfully created!
"=" = "Loaded--03._Y^All_Want_A_Single"
] hldj_next
"=" = "Loaded: 01-black_eyed_peas-pump_it"
] hldjca
"=" = "Current: (none) Next: 01-black_eyed_peas-pump_it
4) Create your own local server and set the appropriate sv_ commands:
sv_allow_voice_from_file 1; sv_use_steam_voice 0; sv_voicecodec voice_speex; sv_voicequality 5
all of those not needed. exclude because - see below
4-a) Load one of the sample audio files and perform a search of your Steam directory (without stopping HLDJ) for the file "voice_input.wav" - does it show up, and if so, where?
No, it doesn't.
4-b) If it exists, open it in an audio player: does it sound like the audio file you loaded?
4-c) If it exists, return to the game, and enter the following into console:
voice_inputfromfile 1; voice_loopback 1; voice_forcemicrecord 0; voice_modenable 1; voice_enable 1; +voicerecord
Does the audio file start to play?
IF i change the name of .wav file converted by hldj and put it under name of voice_input.wav and use the bind it came with, yea, it does play, and deletes automaticaly once finished.
5) Does voice normally work for you? If not, or you do not have a microphone, have you remembered to set up any applicable options in your operating system and/or the game? **
Yea it does work. Win 7 64 bit CS 1.6

Try running HLDJ as administrator.
Try deleting any hldj_ configs in your game folder and anywhere you find them in your Steam folder, then turn off Steam cloud and see if that makes any difference.
Try HLDJ on another game and see if there is any difference.
Make sure the HLDJ aliases exist in-game (enter "alias" in console, past the results here)
Post a screenshot showing the contents of a) the game folder, and b) its parent folder, after selecting an audio file.

1. Tried it a lot, but nothing changed.
2. Nope it's not that. I believe it's system-sided since it actualy DOESN'T create voice_input file but i can't figure out what exactly
3. Nope, there's none.
4 & 5 everything is fine for ONLY one exception. No file is created on hldj start/song load/song play / w/e
