HLDJ only activates mic: voice_input.wav does not exist

There seems to be an increasing number of problems where voice_input.wav isn't created (and so the mic is activated instead of audio playback). After doing some research, I am led to believe this is a result of denied access privilege when HLDJ attempts to create the link between the audio file and voice_input.wav, combined with an oversight in how this is handled.

This means you will encounter the problem if you are a Windows 7 user with non-admin privileges on your system. I am working to correct this problem, and it should be fixed soon.

please write back as soon as possible and it does not work! i downloaded 1.6.0a6 and it still wont work =/ i converted my music files using the hldj converter and set everything up correctly i press my key and i cant hear anything but my voice. pleasee fix (im windows 7)

I downloaded the latest version today, and i'm only getting my mic and no music when i activate audio.

Could you include more information? Such as the actual name of the version you're using (1.6.0a9, for example) and your OS.

I'm using 1.6.0a7 32-Bit on WinXP

You need to read the sticky/forum rules, and create your own thread. Since you are using a7, the problem is not likely related to the one in this thread.

Hi!
I am using a windows 7 laptop and have tried using both the 32 and 64 bit versions of hldj. I have downloaded the lastest version but when I get in game and press my button, it only plays a delayed echo of my voice. I have searched my steam directory and there was no sign of voice_input.wav. Any Ideas?

ps: tried it in a friends server that had hldj support. My friend even played it from his computer.)
