hldj starts up wrong game

When i try to start gmod using hldj... it wants to start up sourec sdk base instead...anyideas???
PLEASE i tryed /steam/steamapps/username/garrysmod/garrysmod/ yet with no results

Check that there is no older version of gmod residing in your "...\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods" directory. Also, there should be a "gameinfo.txt" in the gmod folder (this is what HLDJ uses to launch the game), if you upload it here, I can check it out.

I decided to stop the source sdk before it loaded up and when i start up gmod.... everything is confirmed i got my audio list i push the corresponding number to it, it says its loading... but when i ever push home (my play/stop key) nothing happens, do you happen to know whats wrong... and just incase ill still upload my gameinfo (-the music is already converted)

Check that there is no older version of gmod residing in your "...\Steam\steamapps\sourcemods" directory.

There is nothing at all in my sourcemods folder... everything was all originally put into username/garrysmod/garrysmod during the instalation

This is because SteamAppID 218 is Source SDK Base 2007 (Temporary ID, used to mount the OrangeBox engine in mods).

jxl is correct, that's why HLDJ is loading Source SDK Base (try updating/re-installing gmod).
When you attempt to play the song, do you see the voice/mic icon displayed on your screen?

no i hear no sounds....do i have to have a mic plugged in the play songs with hldj

just so u know i have gmod10 with the big "11" update that i purchased off steam

Then I believe Gmod10 is 4000.

i have the same problem but will reinstalling gmod delete all my mods?

You mean all your gmod mods? Just make a back up the mods before re-installing.

If you don't want to go through a whole lot of effort to get his fixed:

1. Delete HLDJ's settings file.

2. Start up HLDJ again, let it detect your games, but this time, make sure you UNCHECK "automatically start game". You can activate HLDJ in Garry's Mod by doing this, but you'll have to start it up yourself, which isn't that much of a problem.

That *is* a whole lot of effort, why needlessly re-setup everything? Just go into Options and disable it from there.

*scratches head* - you missed the point: you don't re-install HL2 just to reconfigure one bind. The Recommended Options dialog displayed after adding games is just a one-time convenience, if you want to change your options after that, do it through the Options window.
