1) Does HLDJ launch the game correctly for you?
Yes.
2) Does "HLDJ Loaded Successfully" appear in console on starting the game (with no errors)?
Yes.
3) What is the console output after selecting a song, or issuing other HLDJ commands such as "hldj_next"?
It tells me the song has loaded.
4) After loading one of the sample audio files, perform a search of your Steam directory (without stopping HLDJ) for the file "voice_input.wav" - does it show up, and if so, where?
In my TF2 direct0ry.
5) Does voice normally work for you? If not, or you do not have a mic, have you remembered to set up any applicable options in your operating system and/or the game? *
Yes.
The issue I am having is that the sample files will play no problem. But, if I load a file that I have converted, it doesn't play, it just opens up the mic channel.
I have tried to use Audacity, SwitchSound File Converter and even Adobe's Soundbooth. I've converted them to 11025Hz, 16 Bit, Mono files in all three programs, but they still wont play no matter what I do. I also have the same issue with HLSS.
I am running Windows 7 64-Bit with a USB headset and trying to get the files to play in TF2.

Re: HLDJ not playing files I convert
Read the conversion tutorial in the sticky (for Audacity), or use the built-in HLDJ audio converter. Also note, the wav file must not contain metadata; Audacity gives you the option to clear metatdata tags during the export process.
Re: HLDJ not playing files I convert
I think the metadata was the problem. After I cleared it out, it worked fine. Soundbooth was adding metadata to it.
Weird.
Thanks for the advice!
