I haven't seen a single topic that talked about this.
When I open the files up in windows media player, they sound fine, but when I open them in HLDJ in-game in both CS:S and L4D2, they sound atrocious. I've converted them properly, reduced the bass/volume using GoldWave, and have tried playing the samples (Which sound perfectly fine and clear for some reason). All MY files sound like shit.

Re: Scratchy, bad quality music
Odds are that you didn't convert them properly then. See if using the built-in converter works any better. Also, for future posts: sticky.
Re: Scratchy, bad quality music
I tried the built-in converter, but the songs wouldn't play after I did that.
After I did it the way it used to be done (dPpoweramp audio converter + goldwave) the songs actually played, but the default converter didn't do anything.

Odd. And you selected the proper engine when you were using the built-in converter? If you did, try reading the sticky (already linked above).
Re: Scratchy, bad quality music
Ok, I figured out why they wouldn't play, but now I have a bigger problem. No matter how low I set the volume to decrease in the converter, in-game it is insanely loud and it only sounds SLIGHTLY better than before.
The song has very heavy bass, could that be why?
