1) Does HLDJ launch the game correctly for you?
Yes
2) Does "HLDJ Loaded Successfully" appear in console on starting the game (with no errors)?
Yes
3) What is the console output after selecting a song, or issuing other HLDJ commands such as "hldj_next"?
] hldj_next
Loaded: back
Host_WriteConfiguration: Wrote cfg/hldj_cmd_b.cfg
4) After loading one of the sample audio files, perform a search of your Steam directory (without stopping HLDJ) for the file "voice_input.wav" - does it show up, and if so, where?
No, it doesn't show up
5) Does voice normally work for you? If not, or you do not have a mic, have you remembered to set up any applicable options in your operating system and/or the game?
My mic and voice are perfectly working fine, but when I play hldj and press my F1 hotkey to play music, all I see is the sound sign, no music, and my voice.

Re: HLDJ not playing music
When nothing shows up for #4, navigate to the directory one level up from your game directory (for more details, see: Game Audio Directory) . Copy one of your audio files to this location and rename it to "voice_input.wav". Switch back to the game, does anything play now when you hit your play audio key?
also, make sure you are using the latest version of HLDJ.

Re: HLDJ not playing music
I'm playing CS:S, so I make a folder called "voice_input.wav" in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\katonfire909\counter-strike source"?
EDIT: This is all that happens when I do what you told me to do:
] la
Current: (none) Next: voice_input.wav
Directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\katonfire909\counter-strike source\voice_input.wav
1. [refresh]\ 2. [up one level]\
3. voice_input.wav
] 2
Loading Directory : counter-strike source ...
Host_WriteConfiguration: Wrote cfg/hldj_cmd_f.cfg
done.
Current: (none) Next: voice_input.wav
Directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\katonfire909\counter-strike source\voice_input.wav
1. [refresh]\ 2. [up one level]\
3. voice_input.wav
It still does not play.
EDIT: I can't quite see what you're saying here. The only thing I'm doing right now is moving a .wav file one directory level up from the current audio directory that supplies the music for HLDJ. And thus it still doesn't play.

Re: HLDJ not playing music
1. Do you want me to make a folder named voice_input.wav or make the audio file named voice_input.wav?Renegade wrote:When nothing shows up for #4, navigate to the directory one level up from your game directory (for more details, see: Game Audio Directory) . 2. I made a voice_input.wav folder one level up from cstrike which is counter-strike (told you about previously) and put a audio file in it and tried to play it, nothing happened.
3. I don't know what to do.

Re: HLDJ not playing music
1) copy one of the sample audio files to "...\Steam\SteamApps\<username>\counter-strike source"
2) rename it to "voice_input.wav"
3) start the game and create/join your own local server
4) enter the following into console:
Does the audio file play?
