1) Does HLDJ launch the game correctly for you? Yes.
2) Does "HLDJ Loaded Successfully" appear in console on starting the game (with no errors)? Yes.
3) What is the console output after selecting a song, or issuing other HLDJ commands such as "hldj_next"? 3
Host_WriteConfiguration: Wrote cfg/hldj_cmd_l.cfg
Loaded : Richard Wagner - Ride Of The Valkyries
4-a) After loading one of the sample audio files, perform a search of your Steam directory (without stopping HLDJ) for the file "voice_input.wav" - does it show up, and if so, where? Not sure how to do this.
4-b) If it exists, open it in an audio player: does it sound like the audio file you loaded? N/a
4-c) If it exists, return to the game, and enter the following into console:
CODE: SELECT ALL
voice_inputfromfile 1; voice_loopback 1; voice_forcemicrecord 0; voice_modenable 1; voice_enable 1; +voicerecord
Does the audio file start to play?
5) Does voice normally work for you? If not, or you do not have a mic, have you remembered to set up any applicable options in your operating system and/or the game? Yes im using a mic, and it's quality is great usally.
Basically when ever i play a sound according to other people it makes a growling sound i have front mic on and not stereo mix and im using Wav files.

Re: Sounds are not playing correctly.
4a - load a sample audio file, keep the game & hldj in the background while you open up your Steam folder. CTRL+F to search for the file mentioned. Take note of it's location and follow the rest of the steps.
Most likely you are not playing on a server that allows HLDJ. In the sticky, you'll see the variables and their values that need to be set server-side in order to allow HLDJ.

If you can't find it, do the following:
1. Find your game audio directory: http://hldj.org/manual/tips_tricks.html ... meaudiodir
2. Copy one of the sample audio files into the above directory, and rename it to "voice_input.wav"
3. Continue on from step 4
