Audacity reverts project rate back to 44100

Post by TheVile »

I have reopened and redone the files over and over, setting project rate to 11025 as i'm supposed to and export. I enter a game and its super slow, I reopen the file with audacity and its back to 44100, why? Its like audacity isn't saving it, also..I keep getting the following error when saving over the old audio, I dunno if this would make a difference or not:

Error: Is directory write-protected or disk full?

Yet it saves it as a new one not over the old one.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The same goes for XP: you'll need to save to a directory that you have read/write access to.
Next, ensure that you've followed these steps correctly: http://www.hldj.org/manual/images/convert_audio_format.gif
If you suspect an Audacity problem, try running a stable version instead of a beta.

Make sure you have write-access to the disk/folder (i.e. preferably administrator).

I don't want to sound like a total noob, but anyways every time I try to disable Read Only it will not stay. I am using XP.

Read only on what? the file or folder? A read-only on a folder only means that one or more files contained within are marked read-only. It's likely (unless you explicitly set the files as read-only) that the read-only attribute is marked due to insufficient permissions, you'll need to change those first.

I am the only one on this computer, and the only computer administrator.

You'll still need to make sure your permissions are correct, even administrators can lock themselves out of access. If all is in order, you'll probably want to take this up with the Audacity folks.
