CSS crashes

Whenever I try to play a sound, it plays but it's played really fast and the game gets real laggy then crashes
Everything should be set up correctly. Any help would be appreciated.
I am using windows XP too

Verify that your audio files are converted correctly (try the sample wav files from the forum sticky).
This may also be a result from AMD dual-core processors; if you have a dual-core, check the forum sticky for the solution.

What sticky? i have the same problem as him... and i do have a AMD duel core processor, but i do not see a sticky with a solution to the problem.
