HLDJ wount start in Goldeneye beta

Post by Crippieboy »

Ive used HLDJ with all halflife games and recently went to try it with a third party game. i tried to set alternate audio directory, and it didnt work. it runs off of source sdk 2007. when i click the play button it launches the game, but hldj does not run, i look in the console and there is no hldj script at all. any help would be great.

Take a look at the stickies to see if there's any related issues there. Namely, are you running Vista with IE8beta installed?

I'm running Vista 64bit using IE7 and it does not work for me either, the script doesn't show in the console.

After pressing Start in HLDJ, can you verify that the hldj configs are created in your "...\gesource\cfg" dir? (should be about 10 of them)

I've tested GES with HLDJ before, at this point it may just be a general problem; I've seen something like this crop up rarely before where the game won't exec scripts. We'll see if it is:
In console, enter "exec hldj_init.cfg". This will manually execute all scripts necessary to get HLDJ going. If nothing happens or it says it couldn't execute the script, then it is as mentioned above and you might want to try a re-install.
If not, and this works, then something funky might be up with the autoexec.cfg file - open it up and check that "exec hldj_init.cfg" is included there.
