When I run HLDJ, in Team Fortress 2 and join a game, my audio isn't playing.

I have a suspicion that its because "+voicerecord" is not working either, but thats just what I'm thinking, as there is another thing.

In the console it says this :

HLDJ loaded - some files could not be written ( 1 error!)


Why?

I have everything configured right, all my .mp3 have been converted to .wav

A few more things.

It DID work before.

My play audio key is DEL (Delete).

I am playing on a server that allows HLDJ.

I am not muted on that server.

And would skins possibly be the problem?

Okay, now I know that the problem relies in the area where it says I have 1 error.


It should say :

"HLDJ loaded succesfuly"

but it doesn't...

I have 1 error, but how do I know what that error is?

The first step to finding your problem would be the sticky. Make sure you read all of it; the more information we get the easier it is for us to help you.

I did find the problem.

It should say "HLDJ loaded succesfully" but it says I have an error.

Also, I have a question.

Is the fact that +voicerecord isn't working a cause to me not being able to spam audio?

So, how do I know what this error is?

+voicerecord not working could very well be a problem. If you had read the sticky you may have seen this:
"5) Does voice normally work for you? If not, or you do not have a mic, have you remembered to set up any applicable options in your operating system and/or the game? *

* If the answer to #5 was no on both accounts, you may need to configure the recording options for your operating system and the game. These can be found in Control Panel -> Sound -> Recording (for Windows) and Options -> Voice (for the game). "

And yes, that one error might be the problem, but knowing that there's an error hardly narrows it down, now does it? Please read through the sticky, regardless of how little you think it may help you. It's actually pretty much the only forum rule, y'know.

On a parting note, just 1 HLDJ error might not mean anything at all. I used to get console output telling me there was an error but HLDJ was working perfectly (as far as I could tell).

I have read the sticky, and I did see #5.

My sounds are fine, HLDJ was working perfectly fine before, and all. Plus, I couldn't find an area in my Control Panel named Sound.. (Parts of a name were Sound but when I went there it had no option called Recording.)

I use Windows 7, but your saying its in game, I think, right?

The in-game option must be on as well, but the windows setting needs to be correct. To find the sound settings, click the "view by" box near the top-right and set it to either large or small icons. There should now be an icon that's just labeled sound. Open that, and then on the recording tab, enable each device.

Okay, how do I enable the devices?

Also, I do not have either of these devices.

You should have a few things like "Microphone" that say they aren't plugged in, open them and then enable them at the bottom of the new window.

What about Stereo Mix?

You could try enabling that if you haven't already.
