HELP - Songs are in Slow Mo

Post by scorn »

Hey guys I'm new here and new using HLDJ (I'm Portuguese so my english may not be very good)

So here's the problem. I Downloaded HLDJ and I downloaded some sounds, everything worked fine. I tried to convert myself a few songs and when I play them on CS with HLDJ they are in slow mo, very very slow. So I tought the problem was mine when I converted the songs, but when I listen to them in Media Player or Other it plays fine, in normal speed. I tried to download songs from the same site I downloaded the sounds befores and they are also in Slow mo, but not so much has when I converted. A friend of mine has the same problems, some songs work and some don't. Can you help me ? Thank's a lot ! ;)

I have the same problem, but some songs work fine. The songs that have 128kbps work good, but i have ones that for some reason converted to 176kbps. I used Switch Sound File Converter to convert the files to .wav, and Goldwave to balance the levels for better audio. Files that went from MP4 to .wav were saved as 128kbps after Goldwave changes, but MP3 to .wav files were the ones that went to 176kbps after Goldwave. Any help would be great.

1) Yes
2) Yes
3) I don't undertstand this question, I just put "la" on the console for the songs list and than the number ex: "3" and than click my defined key "DEL"
4) On the Steam folder or on the HLDJ folder because mine isn't on the Steam folder. IDK if it has to.
5) Yes, it works.

You have a conversion problem. Use the built-in audio converter, or: http://www.hldj.org/manual/tips_tricks. ... udioformat

In newer games the sounds play fine. For some reason when you try and use HLDJ in games that use the HL1 engine the sounds play slow. I really wanted sounds in Natural Selection and Counter Strike (original) but they play at half speed. I believe this was the issue the OP was trying to convey.
The sounds work great in L4D and L4D2 and in source games though.
