Glitch ?

Yesterday, I converted all my sounds and it was perfectly playing in counter-strike with HLDJ
( 8000 hz/16 bit/mono )
Today it was still working, then suddendly when i joined a server, any sound would make me drop from ANY servers
After closing the game and re-opening HLDJ and cs, I finaly could play any sounds, BUT they would suddendly all sound terribly bad ( bad sound and slowed )
How come??
I hope I don't have to convert them back again as it took me about 2 hours -_-
EDIT: for some ODD reason it all came back to normal... oh well
