Can't play wav file

Ok, so I downloaded the newest version 64-bit blah blah, set everything up this way:

1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjMCaw4qzjg < wanted this song

2. Used VideotoMp3 (High quality)

3. MP3 is now on desktop

4. Downloaded Goldwave

5. http://www.kei-kun.co.uk/nav/goldwave.htm < did these steps

6. Saved in the right format and everything

7. Windows media player wouldn't play it. I downloaded HLDJ's sample wavs and none of them work either. I downloaded a WAV file from another site and it works fine, so wav files themselves work, but HLDJ conversions don't.

8. Tried it in-game, set everything up, hit play, mic symbol comes on and still nothing. I've tried on multiple servers, all allow HLDJ.

Follow the instructions in the sticky/rules.

It's not helping. Not even the sample files work.

1) Does HLDJ launch the game correctly for you?
yes
2) Does "HLDJ Loaded Successfully" appear in console on starting the game (with no errors)?
yes
3) What is the console output after selecting a song, or issuing other HLDJ commands such as "hldj_next"?
Host_WriteConfiguration: Wrote cfg/hldj_cmd_b.cfg
Loaded : sample_src
4-a) After loading one of the sample audio files, perform a search of your Steam directory (without stopping HLDJ) for the file "voice_input.wav" - does it show up, and if so, where?
It doesn't show up...HLDJ loads the game, I alt-tab and search all my files, it's not there.

After loading the sample audio file, post a screenshot showing:
- the contents of your game directory
- the contents of the directory one level up from your game directory
- the contents of the "cfg" directory (if it exists) in your game directory

I figured out the problem.

As for WMP, I had the audio set to speakers instead of headphones. As to why HLDJ doesn't work, I use Windows 7. So there is no voice_input.wav
