HLDJ Play key not working

I've just downloaded HLDJ and I'm pretty positive I've done everything right. Right now I'm using Portal 2 to test it, and everything on the console commands seems to work. When I type "la" all the tracks come up as they should. When I press my play key, though, nothing happens. I've tried different keys (I, 5, F1) but none work. (As a side note, I had to manually type "F5" into the Play audio key box because it wouldn't recognize it when I actually did press the F5 key. Not sure if that's what I was supposed to do.) Again, everything up until then works just how it's supposed to. It's just when I press the key, the background music keeps playing and nothing happens. Ideas?
