hi when i launch hldj for css and when i play a song the song doesnt play it sounds like a whale or some sort of sea monster screeching or something....please help

Yea I also get this noise, it's feedback. I'm wondering why it's happening because I formatted the files properly 11025hz, 16bit, mono, just like it says by using that program that you recommended. I reinstalled it and tried it around 3 more times following the setup steps very carefully, I really have no idea what it could be. Might it be my mic, or maybe something else?

A mic is not required for playback (unless your running Vista, in which case one may need to be present during the initial setup).
Try the sample wav files located in the forum sticky. Is everything else working fine though?
