They are all in the correct format, i know this much. The commands work and the first song i played worked, however i cant get any songs to work anymore. Not even the one that worked before. I can select the song and it registers in the console as being played, but when i click f2 no sound comes out. It says i am using the mic, however no sound comes out. HELP!!

If you are using Vista, please read the sticky on
IEBeta8 issues.
Also, after loading a song, check that the file "voice_input.wav" exists in the game directory (or one level up from there if it is a Source game).

The voice_input.wav is showing up in my "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\waraholic\zombie panic! source" folder but no sound is coming out

and NO im not on vista im on windows xp service pack 3
p.s. the voice_input.wav is in the correct format i just looked at it here are all of its stats:
Bit rate: 176kbps
Audio sameple rate: 16 bit
channels:1 (mono)
audio sample rate: 11kHz
audio format: PCM
all of my files are the same as this one... i have tried using the hldjn/hldjp and la commands... only the first file i played worked and ive restarted the game that doesnt do anything... i can stop/start the same file but if i try to change it or if i change servers it will mess it up

Have you checked if you've got the IE8 beta installed?
Also, try manually changing the file yourself:
Delete voice_input.wav,
copy-paste a (different) song to the directory mentioned above and rename it to "voice_input.wav".
If your new song is now played upon re-entering the game, then the file is being copied to the correct location (which it seems it is).

For some reason only 1 of my songs works in Zombie Panic: Source... they are all correctly formatted. In CS:S none of the songs work even the one which does work in Zombie Panic: Source."C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\waraholic\counter-strike source" is where the "voice_input.wav" file is. I changed this manually and it still does not play anything. When in CS:S if i click f2 to play music my mic sounds come out not the music

Hopefully someone can atleast fix the music for my CS:S ???
I do not have IE 8 beta(internet explorer 8 beta?) and i am on xp service pack 3
all and any help/attempts are welcome and much appreciated

thanks.
P.S. does it matter where hldj is?? its currently at
"C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\waraholic\HLDJ"

HLDJ's location should have no effect (though you can quickly change its location by copy-pasting the HLDJ folder elsewhere).
The reason it appears to work for the one song in ZP is likely that the song you loaded at some point when HLDJ was working is the one that is playing now.
Delete all instances of "voice_input.wav" from all of your game directories, then try HLDJ again... chances are not even that one song will play now (if it does, then this is truly an odd situation; that it loads the one, but not any other).
Have you tried manually creating your own voice_input.wav? That should at least work. If it doesn't, the problem may exist within the game/Steam setup and may require re-installation. If it does work though, then the problem exists in HLDJ.
Has HLDJ ever worked for you? or is the problem just occurring of late?
It sounds the latter, since the existence of voice_input.wav indicates that at some point HLDJ must have been working (unless it was created manually or through other means). If this is the case, have you installed anything recently, say related to Windows (i.e. service pack 3), between the time when HLDJ was working and now?

I believe i may have installed SP3 since installing hldj however i don't remember

It never did work fully though
[Also, since installation i have installed insurgency*(a source mod)
*I hated the game so i deleted it.]
The voice_input.wav file is created In the
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\waraholic\counter-strike source // OR
C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\waraholic\Zombie Panic! Source // folders -- i deleted it and restarted then loaded song and it makes the voice_input.wav file but it does not play any song even with the file there in the correct format... weird this happens in both css and zps

I just hear myself not my music and i took my mic out/turned it off neither of those helped it.
BTW i am using the 1.4.8 exe but the 1.4.5 didn't work if and that's why i got the 1.4.8 exe if i recall correctly.
Thanks a TON for all of your help even if the problem hasn't been fixed yet.
P.S. If i need to reinstall steam stuff... will i need to reinstall steam and the games or just the games and is there a quicker way to do it than reinstalling everything? Like are there any files i can keep or anything to make it faster?

So to confirm, after deleting all instances, HLDJ re-creates "voice_input.wav" successfully? Try opening this file to see if it is indeed the song you just loaded. If this works as expected with every new song loaded, then HLDJ seems to be operating fine.
Next, to test if the game is working:
1) create a "voice_input.wav" in the appropriate folder
2) go back into game, then enter into console
"voice_enable 1; voice_modenable 1; voice_loopback 1; voice_inputfromfile 1; +voicerecord"
This should manually activate playback (set loopback and inputfromfile back to 0 afterwards)
Does this work?
p.s. do you have multiple Steam accounts?
Also, I wouldn't re-install just yet, but if you do, keep a backup of your config (.cfg) files for every game as well as Steam's GCF (.gcf) files which will save you from having to re-download the game content.

This works perfectly.

1) create a "voice_input.wav" in the appropriate folder
2) go back into game, then enter into console
"voice_enable 1; voice_modenable 1; voice_loopback 1; voice_inputfromfile 1; +voicerecord"
This makes me hear myself when i talk and it turns my mic on(this was done before automatically by clicking F2)

It seems to be a problem with the game then. Try re-configuring the mic in the game, if all else fails, go ahead and try a re-install of the game.
