audio help

i am having a problem with my audio. i am converting the files to wav 16 bit, 11khz. and when i play it in game it is not good. i have attached the two files before conversion, and after conversion there is a noticible difference when the song after conversion gets to a heavy guitar area. should i run the file threw an graphic equilizer. please hlp

If you are getting "crunchy" audio, it means volume clipping is occurring - before converting try lowering the overall volume (or volume for that section) so that after conversion, none of the peaks of the audio wave get clipped off.
If it sounds fuzzy or distorted in this section, try using the equalizer to reduce the volume of the bandwidths around the fringes (i.e. <100Hz and >10000Hz).
Alas, the 11025Hz limit does mean that even after all that, some songs just won't ever sound good over the voice system (i.e. heavy bass and heavy metal).

Not much change, but give it a try:
(high-pass filter: 11000Hz, Amplify: -2, GraphicEQ: dropoff < 100Hz)
