HLDJ - Does not work, LA works but cant select songs

Yes. HLDJ has been a loved program of mine, but recently. my return to steam has not been as fruitful as i thought
i have tried Reinstalling HLDJ.
i have tried the other topics
yes, even the stickied ones.
Details:
hldj, la, etc commands work.
but song selection does not.
Help?!

Yeah I've got the same problem, in TF2. SOMETIMES it'll work, most of the time it doesn't. Feels random. I can't even select directories.

I've had no luck re-creating this problem both in 1.4.08 or the current development version. It could be related to the wait command (see Known Issues sticky), though it should not prevent the audio file from being selected.
Do other commands work (i.e. hldjn, hldjp, hldjca?).
What operating system are you using?

Same for me... sometimes it just wont load another song, the only way I can fix it is close my game stop HLDJ close HLDJ then restart everything/

Those of you that are also having problems:
Do you have any files with non-ascii characters in them?
I removed Japanese characters from my filenames and it seems to work better now.

Yes, that's another thing to make sure of. Checking the console now and then for errors will help diagnose these types of problems.
