Music skipping and/or pausing please help

i have tried the sample file reinstalled, restarted, everything and it still skips i dont know why 
and its driving me crazy because it will play like this musicmusicmusic.......(pause)....musicmusicmusic.....(pause)....music.......(pause).........then it ends. i have an ati radeon x1900 (i think) and i have XP so please please please HELP MEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!1!!!111!1!!!!!! 
plus i have changed the voice settings thing and allthe music is pre-converted i got them from the forums but i would really like to play my music and sounds and im posting this because it was not on the forums
