HLDJ for Empires mod

Hi guys.
So I'm trying to set up HLDJ for
Empires Mod.
This is what I've done so far without success:
I've accepted to run the
Setup when HLDJ starts up.
I've accepted to
add all of my games now
I've set the game directory to:
Steam\steamapps\SourceMods\Empires
And the Audio Directory to:
C:\Downloads\HLDJ\Audio ( Which contains "guy yelling at cat" wavs from:
http://www.hldj.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=398 )
I chose "o" for the "
Play Audio key" and "Empires" for "
Game Name"
But when I start the game with HLDJ, and create my own server and press the "o" key. The mic icon shows up and it seems like the only thing it does it toggle my mic on and/or off.
What am I doing wrong?
Edit: I've also tried the sample wav on this forum as well
and tried reading the
The Third Party Mods thread but it seems to be delteded or something. Couldn't get to it from this link:
http://hostedboard.com/hldj-about6.html which was posted in the "read this before posting in this section" thread.

What version are you using? Please try the
HLDJ 1.5.0 Beta (and re-add the game),
or read this:

Yeah I got the Beta version. I didn't realize you had to do something under the advanced option though.
For empires, do I use alternate Game Audio Directory: Sdk Base or Half Life 2?
Edit:
Hang on. It says that those steps are not necessary if I'm using 1.5.0 Beta :S
I did them anyway and its still not working. Still just toggles my mic on or off.
Edit x2:
I read some of the other posts where you told them to look for HLDJ files in the STEAM folder. I did a quick search for HLDJ files and found none after starting Empires with HLDJ.
But I get the correct text in console, it says its loaded and it even says the wavs are loaded when I chose them form the list audio.
I also get "Host_WriteConfiguration: Wrote cfg/hldj_cmd_c.cfg"
Edit x3:
May it have something to do with that my Steam folder was Read only?

I give up. I've tried everything. Even tried the previous version.
I'll stick to HLSS

If the console states that HLDJ was loaded successfully, then the files are there.
It's more likely that the audio file you were using was converted improperly (in which case it won't matter what you use), try the sample wav from the
sticky

I figgured out what's wrong by reading the HLSS forums. The correct Alternate Game Audio Directory should be "Steam\steamapps\username\source sdk base
2007" And not "Steam\steamapps\username\source sdk base"

Which is the same information contained in the link provided in the very first response.

No it's not. Your link says to direct it to "source sdk base" not "source sdk base 2007"
** For those using the current build of HLDJ (1.5.0 beta or greater), these additional steps are no longer necessary: just add your games as normal.
Also you said that 1.5.0 Beta users didn't need to do those additional steps. That's wrong.

What part did you have trouble
reading?:
for most mods, this will be the "source sdk base" directory.
*If you're having trouble finding the correct folder, please see the remarks section below.
Furthermore, the
links provided in the "remarks section below" would have guided you in finding the appropriate directory easily. Regardless, had you just used
HLDJ 1.5.0 and
re-added the game as I advised you would have avoided the entire rigmarole in the first place.
In any case, your problem has been solved.
