Current problem:
Several users have reported that HLDJ has stopped working in Gmod after the latest update. The problem has been verified not to be with HLDJ but with the update to Gmod; the default value for sv_allow_voice_input_from_file has been toggled to "0".

Solution
If you are a server operator, set "sv_allow_voice_from_file" to "1"; otherwise find a server that has it set to this value.

update 2: According to a recent Steam update (see jonney934's post), the "voice_inputfromfile" cvar has been re-enabled in GMod, thus re-enabling the use of HLDJ in GMod.
update 1: According to GMod users (see below) a recent update has removed the "voice_inputfromfile" cvar (required by HLDJ), effectively disabling the use of HLDJ in GMod.

This is not a bug with HLDJ.
Whatever server you were on likely installed a plug-in to disable HLDJ.

I haven't done anything to or with HLDJ or installed new addons joined new servers etc. since last time I used it so IDK why it's doing this.

EDIT: I also tried creating a multiplayer (so no plug-in to disable it) and it still doesn't work. Same message shows.

UPDATE: I've asked everyone else I know that has HLDJ and plays Garry's Mod. They have the same problem. I think Garry or whoever did the blocking part of the update blocked "playaudio".

The newest update completely removed voice_inputfromfile. So the above bypass won't work anymore.

So what your saying is that HLDJ does not work on garry's mod anymore?
If so does the beta work on it?
if not how can we get it to work?

Based on user reports (I cannot directly confirm/deny it since I don't have GMod).
All versions of HLDJ (or even manually loading the song yourself) will not work.
There may be some way to circumvent it through GMod scripting, but that's beyond the scope of HLDJ.

Download that and put it in your addons. It's a DLL that will allow it to bypass the new block. It says HLSS on the file but it also works for HLDJ. Read the read me and follow the instructions to get it to work.

However I can't seem to make your fix work.
It says to put it in your addons folder, but honestly, it isn't formatted right to work there (and I tried it).
All addons need an info.txt, and even when I made one by taking it from another addon and changing some words it didn't work.

When it is successfully installed you will see the load
text in the Console.

I don't see this load text, so i'm assuming I didn't install it right.
I also get this when attempting to use metalslave_togglevoice:
Unknown command: metalslave_togglevoice
Probably because your fix didn't do anything due to gmod not loading it.
Can you please help me figure out how i'm supposed to install this? Because, sticking it in the addons folder like the readme says just doesn't work.

I did a huge facepalm when I realized that you don't put it in it's own folder in addons like you do with every other addon, you just stick the files right in addons.I had no idea an addon could work that way.Every single other one doesn't.

P.S. Even though is says 'probably not' to getting Vac Banned in the readme, VAC2 does not exist on gmod. VAC2 is for Valve and its games ONLY. Trust me... I was recently wrongly vac-banned from CSS due to skins.

Bottom of the blog post. Yes, I am aware it says "HLSS", but both programs use the same command that was blocked.

When ever I press F1 , while have the metalslave thing , my game crashes!

If some are not aware, update 71 of Garry's Mod reenabled voice_inputfromfile according to the update history. So apparently HLDJ and HLSS should work again.
