problem with HLDJ

ok ive went through the manual converted it to Wav, did the whole 11 Khz 16 bit 1 mono stuff, and when i go into the game it says that the DJ is working fine, i can see my songs but i also see a .\ and ..\ in my list though i only see my 2 songs in the actual audio file. I tryied using it on ZM by creating my own serv and when i hit the play bind it opens the mic but i get like a deep base thrashing but no actual part of the song. What i have tried doing is something i saw on youtube is making the file i guess smaller making the lines go inbetween 1 and .5 but making it bigger or smaller hasnt worked so i dont know whats going on. I mean i just learned of HLDJ today from someone using it cuz they played a song and i wanted to use my mic but the quality was crappy and so i wanted to play songs as well. When i play either one on media player they work fine so i dunno where i screwed up since my directory to the games etc are fine, green light and same name as well as source so i dunno.
something i noticed is that when i go to the soutce mods through program files etc i see Empires, ZM, and then i see voice_input so i dunno if that suppose to be there or not.

Which version of HLDJ are you using?
Yes, voice_input.wav should be in a different location.
Go into HLDJ's Setup -> double-click on the game -> expand the Advanced tab (click the double orange arrows) .
What does it say under "Use alternate Game Audio Directory"?
(if you're not using HLDJ 1.5.0, download it and add the game again).

im using the one lower then 1.5.0
where should it be?
and it says nothing on "use alternate game audio directory"
would i need to delete my enitre 1.4.5 stuff?
what i did to make sure the audio files are correct was i got auditor (since last time i used something else) did everything to make it wave and stuff and put it in audio in my 1.4.5 even got the original audio files and changed them using the instructions once more and still no luck so im thinking its either that 1.4.5 doesnt work now or its cuz of the misplaced voice_input.wav file.

Read the sticky on setting up older versions of HLDJ with 3rd-party SourceMods:
http://hldj.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=13
Or as mentioned, just use
HLDJ 1.5.0 beta.
You won't need to delete all 1.4.5 settings, just the ones for the 3rd-party SourceMods you will be re-adding.
Alternatively, you can instead set the Game Audio Directory manually for each one (as explained in the link).

hmmm well i got one song working the other two when i use audacity go 16bit but stay stereo and 44Khz so ill try a different program but if it still does that i'll need someone to do it and tell me how they did lol.
whats the difference between 1.5.0 and 1.4.5?
edit: neg that actually, i tried playing 3 songs that i know are mono 11khz and 16bit even one that worked before and still only got the Base and i used dBpoweramp this time. So i cant see what i screwed up this time cuz there wave, 11khz and 1 mono 16 bit.
mabey i might get 1.5.0 if that'll help fix the problem

A lot, with only a fraction of the changes mentioned
here. The rest will be change logged when it moves out of beta.
But it won't solve your conversion woe's (... not yet anyways) you'll still need to know how to
convert properly.

hmm ill get the BETA and my conversion is fine with the songs but for some reason they still dont wanna work. Because as ive said ive made them Wav 16 bit 11khz and 1 mono which is what it calls for, place them in my audio file and i still only get Base when i play them. It might be the Voice_inpute.wav thats misplaced and i still dont know where it needs to go.

Do a search for it in your Steam directory to verify if it's ending up in the right place.
To eliminate the possibility of conversion problems, test with the sample wav from the sticky.

hmmm well I have 3 songs and so far it just takes a little bit for them to load before pressing the play button so they work. However 1 of them still gives only base untill i used Goldwave to dum it down and now it semi works but since i dont know how far to dum it down i dunno how to make it work correctly.
