Hi

HLDJ is a good program and rocks! 8-) But the problem,
After switching to Windows XP (since windows vista is slow and was corrputed) HLDJ worked perfctly on Vista but when i got Windows XP, my ping;choke;in;out starts to spike like if I had alot of explosive barrels exploding and when i turn the music off, its normal. My ping is normal, it even reacts on 10 pinged serves.
I have coveted all .wavs correctly and installed it correctly and is started. I defraged my stuff and didnt work, I used GameBooster(Increases FPS and Comp speed) it still lags, and EVEN when its not on. I really been looking and looking for answers but none has worked for me. Everything else is up to date, my graphics card is an 8500 GTX nVida (i think) and is up to date also. I have tried cl_upgraderate an cl_cmdrate and there at the ping in each server and including a Virus check and nothing. AND it makes the wav skip over like "Can you.. Shut the... 10 secs...." off.

If you have a solution to this problem, please report to me as fast as possible [if online]
I have HLDJ 1.5.0 and 1.4.5 on my USB to play on different comps.

Note: I used 6800 in vista and with the 8500 graphics card and it works fine on Vista. I really want to know whats going on with my damn computer, if I making a same topic thats old, Sorry.

First test out your songs on your own local server; if they work fine there, chances are it is a problem with the rates/network (note spelling: "cl_updaterate").
If the playback is skipping constantly and you have a dual-core, I suggest taking a look at the dual-core gaming fix in the forum sticky.

Other things to check is that you haven't inadvertently enabled any network Optimizations in HLDJ's Options (only do this if you know what you're doing). Normally if it's a Source game, I'd advise not even touching the rates - defaults should be fine, but if this occurs even when using your mic with normal voice you may have to keep tweaking them and/or contact Steam support.

Also obvious things like: try different servers, disable in-game downloads (cl_download_ingame), set rates to default, etc

When I started my local server its works fine when im not moving alot but it still does the skipping constantly. And when using my microphone regularly, it doesn't lag nor spikes. I checked the Optimizations on HLDJ and I see "Enable network optimizations" unchecked, and the scan for comands is at 100 milliseconds, should I test it out if maybe its causing the problem or something like that, I really dont know what that stuff means. It cant be my connection since its at the speed its going (Like 15 or 17 mega bytes.)

Well you've established it's not your rates, so try the other suggestion(s) I mentioned.
