Hey I just think it would be a great idea if this could work with ARMA 2, I downlaoded ARMA 2 using STEAM, I understand its not run with the HL engine, but it would be so great if somehow it could be programmed to work, I know tonnes of people would be greatful !

What do you think? Is there a way other than just creating crappy custom sound files in .ogg format that have to be under 50kb?

It's not that simple, a whole new system would be required; microphone emulation would allow audio broadcasting in virtually all games, but that's an entire project in itself.
