cant get hldj to play songs in gmod even with manual launch

lol long title but it sums it up pretty well, Ive never been able to get hldj to work with garrys mod, it always did the sourcesdk thing which i saw u fix by manually launching garrys mod.

so anyway i turned auto launch off and i pressed the play button then manually launched it, and then the game launched and absolutely nothing happened from there.
console wasn't up, so i pulled it up and typed in "la" and got "unknown command" as a response... none of the songs i have will show up.

that's pretty much it, i searched high and low for a fix to the second error and got nothing but random BS in every search engine.

Double-check your game directory, especially if you have multiple Steam accounts, or are using the old gmod.
After starting HLDJ, open gmod's "cfg" folder, you should see some "hldj_..." configs. If they are there, try "exec hldj_init.cfg" from console. If it doesn't seem to want to exec the config, try re-installing the game.

thanks mate, i dunno wtf was wrong with it but it works now, or at least it worked last night when i read your post and did those things, haven't tested again but yea, thanks.
