Not converting correctly?

Hey, I've just started using HLDJ again after reformatting. It used to work fine.

1) Does HLDJ launch the game correctly for you? Yes.
2) Does "HLDJ Loaded Successfully" appear in console on starting the game (with no errors)? Yeah.
3) What is the console output after selecting a song, or issuing other HLDJ commands such as "hldj_next"?
Directory: C:\Documents and Settings\People\My Documents\HLDJ\HLDJ\Audio
Current: (none) Next: 00-genesis-toejam-jammin
1. .\ 2. ..\
3. 00-genesis-toejam-jammin 4. babyman
5. barackobama 6. BBgirls
7. champions 8. girls
9. lose 10. none shall pass
11. sample_src 12. victory
] 3
Host_WriteConfiguration: Wrote cfg/hldj_selb.cfg
Loading : 00-genesis-toejam-jammin
4) After loading a song, perform a search in your Steam directory for the file "voice_input.wav" - does it show up? where? no >_<
5) Does voice normally work for you? If not, or you do not have a mic, have you remembered to set up the appropriate options in your OS and the game? yeah.

anyway, none of my songs will play (I'm using TF2) I've followed the source conversion techniques correctly whilst using Audacity, but they either don't work at all or sound like a doomsday device starting up. I've come to the conclusion that I must be doing something wrong because the sample_src.wav works fine.

For conversion I do the following:
Drag and drop MP3 file into HLDJ
Set rate to 11025
Split stereo track
close right channel
select mono
set sample rate to 16 bit
export as wav

If voice_input.wav isn't showing up then the sample could not have worked, so I'll assume it is showing up but for some reason is not in your search results. In which case, combined with what you're hearing, it sounds as if you are changing the rate in the wrong location (in Audacity it must be changed via "Project Rate" at the bottom and not via the drop down menu on the track).
See the manual/sticky for a tutorial and step-by-step visual demonstration.
edit: also note it appears you are using an older version of HLDJ, you should update.
