audio directory shows no files in it

i got hldj to work once for me.
now whenever i start up a game i go to console type la
] la
Current: (none) Next: (none)
Directory: C:\Documents and Settings\Chris\Desktop\HLDJ\Audio
1. .\ 2. ..\
and thats what i get
try typing in 1 and it just reloads the game directory.
if i type in 2 enough if eventually take me to all the desktop files
my songs are in proper format but they dont show
i dont know what the heck to do i've tried everything i could think of
please help me this is driving me crazy
