HLDJ Not Working with L4D2 (crashes game)

1) Does HLDJ launch the game correctly for you? Yep.
2) Does "HLDJ Loaded Successfully" appear in console on starting the game (with no errors)? Yes.
3) What is the console output after selecting a song, or issuing other HLDJ commands such as "hldj_next"? See description below.
4) After loading a song, perform a search in your Steam directory (without stopping HLDJ) for the file "voice_input.wav" - does it show up? where? Yes. C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\common\left 4 dead 2
5) Does voice normally work for you? If not, or you do not have a mic, have you remembered to set up the appropriate options in your OS and the game? Mic works in-game fine and I set it up as PTT.

So as I indicated above, HLDJ loads fine and I can select files from my audio directory just fine. However, when I use the "n" key to play the sound, L4D2 locks up and crashes with a C++ runtime error. I believe the error is the same as the one indicated at the end of this thread. Only I am running WinXP (SP3). I'm sure all my game and OS sound settings are correct because like I said, without trying to play sounds with HLDJ, I can use in-game chat just fine and others can hear me. Any thoughts/suggestions on this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)

And you've tried the suggestions in that topic as well as the sticky (i.e. dual core fix, etc)? Does this happen with the sample audio files?
Other than that, there's not much that can be done as it's a problem with the game.

I haven't tried manually starting the sound clip yet. I also used one of the sound bytes from that post which someone said worked for sure. I don't have a dual-core processor so I don't think there are any issues there. Perhaps there are some remnants of HLSS that could be causing conflicts? I started out trying to get HLSS to work but was unsuccessful so I switched to HLDJ.

Wow, finally got it working. Found out there was one sound file in my directory that was causing the crash. Weird that it would do that but w/e. 8-)

Did the filename contained non-standard (ASCII) characters? Most games will have issues displaying these characters in console, but don't usually cause a crash. Anyways, If this is the case, check back later as I'll be releasing a fix for this in the next version.
