1) Does HLDJ launch the game correctly for you? yes

2) Does "HLDJ Loaded Successfully" appear in console on starting the game (with no errors)? yes

3) What is the console output after selecting a song, or issuing other HLDJ commands such as "hldj_next"?
HLDJ_CMD_b.cfg successfully loaded
"="="Loaded--"song title"

4) After loading one of the sample audio files, perform a search of your Steam directory (without stopping HLDJ) for the file "voice_input.wav" - does it show up, and if so, where?
yes. loads in Program files- Steam ( For this i can find it when I choose one of the songs in my audio folder.But when I try to DL sample...all it does is play the sample from my windows media so not to sure about that.)

5) Does voice normally work for you? If not, or you do not have a mic, have you remembered to set up any applicable options in your operating system and/or the game? yes works fine.

I am using 1.6.0a I have looked everywhere to make sure that all my mic options are correct. I used Audacity to convert files before i realized that u had the converter there already but i dont think that should matter (i could be wrong)...the 5 songs that I put into Audio folder say that they are wave sounds so I assume that the files are correctly converted. I am clueless so plz help.
I am only trying to use it in CS: COndition Zero havnt tried source.

4) If it shows up in "...\Program Files\Steam" then the game directory is incorrect and you should verify the game's settings in Setup. It should be something along the lines of "...Steam\steamapps\<username>\counter-strike condition zero\cszero"

If your browser doesn't save it by default, you can save the sample audio by right-clicking and choosing "Save As" (or similar for whatever browser you are using)

OK i got the sample to play...but my music still doesnt play. all i did was save the sample then move it to the Audio file and that plays...so does that mean that the music files arent converted correctly?

Yes. Check the sticky for a link to the conversion tutorial using Audacity, or you can use the HLDJ audio converter (for mp3 files only).

All I can say is GRRRRRR! I followed the tutorial on how to use Audacity,it did change the way that the file looked in the folder (it looks the same as the sample now before it didnt). However still no music.I am using window 7 so it says to use version 1.3.12 and i am. so it doesnt really look the same as the tutorial....ie I see no export as wav selection,just export, but again the file icon for the song looks the same as the sample now.....shrugs

It may be slightly different, but the tutorial should still apply. One thing to note is that near the end of the export process make sure you clear all meta-data when prompted.

ok i have been messing around with the way i can get the files exported...i am getting sound now...but its like playing an old record at too slow a speed. I tried to play it back at a faster rate but itonly helps minimally. any clue how to get the song to speed up? OK i think i found the problem. The songs that I am trying to play are song that i ripped from CD to my Zune player.therefore they are M4a files...which audacity says is only for a mac. so ill try another converter too see if that helps anything...ill let you know

I'm fairly certain Audacity supports m4a, make sure you follow the tutorial closely, and set the rate in the correct location (project rate).
