Sound very inapprehensible!
Dear HLDJ members,
i have a problem!
I've read the manual and i also got it started. But when i wrote in the console "la" and choosen a song, i tried to play it with F1 and it was very inapprehensible. So i saw my audio files are MP3 and i went back to the manual. There i downloaded Audacity and followed the instructions. Now my files are all WAV and i tried it again, and its still inapprehensible. Do you know why its still so inapprehensible??? If you know it, please let me know.
Yours sincerely

Re: Sound very inapprehensible!
In what way do you mean? Is it making a static sound? Garbled? Fast/Slow? Fades in and out?
Please have more of a description.

Re: Sound very inapprehensible!
Well its very garbled. I just hear a loud hissing...

Re: Sound very inapprehensible!
Did you follow this visual guide exactly?
Be mindful of *which* frequency setting you're changing (make sure its the "Project Rate" drop-down box at the bottom of your screen) and also be sure you are setting the correct frequency for the game you are playing (8000Hz for HL1, 11025Hz for Source games).
For an example of what your files should be like after they are converted, test out these files and see how they play:
HL1 test file
Source test file

Re: Sound very inapprehensible!
And the sample/test files, how do they sound?
Re: Sound very inapprehensible!
Well now i hear nothing when i play my sound. O.o
Re: Sound very inapprehensible!
Doesn't anyone know why i hear nothing when i play my sound now??? I just deleted my audio list and then i put a new one in. I've made something wrong?? Please help me, i want to play my sounds

Re: Sound very inapprehensible!
Oh sorry xD haven't seen ur post lol. Well, the Source sample functions perfect, but my if i play one of my songs, there's just a loud hissing =(
Re: Sound very inapprehensible!
Hmm i found a failure. I havent seen to split the stereo tracks and a few songs are function now, but with some sounds i still got problems. If i want to hear them, there's no sound! I think theres still a problem with stereo sounds, because they dont function with 90%^^ only a few of my 80 function. =( But now i made everything wright, why does it still not function??
It would be nice hearing from you.

Re: Sound very inapprehensible!
You MUST split the tracks and delete one. This makes it capable of being converted to a wav file in mono. It must be in mono and set to the correct frequencies.xKankurox wrote:Hmm i found a failure. Re: Sound very inapprehensible!
Well i know that i have to split them and delete the second. I exactly followed the visual guide. The songs I have in mono do all function, but the stereos doesn't, just a few songs that are stereo function. I also compared one of the stereo songs that function and one that doesn't, there's is no different between them.jxl180 wrote:You MUST split the tracks and delete one.
