Can't get HLDJ to work even after the workaround.

Just so you know, this is not for the block that garry put in for the new update.

I've done the workaround in the "Known Game Issues" topic. It starts up Garry's mod fine, But when I press the key I set HLDJ to use. Nothing happens, No voice icon shows up, and no sound comes out.

1) Do you see "HLDJ successfully loaded" in console on starting the game?
2) What is the console output after selecting a file?
3) After selecting a file, do a search for "voice_input.wav" in the Steam directory, where does it show up?

Yeah, The console shows up, but it makes the beeping noise that would normally only be heard on goldsrc games, I can select files fine, too. I couldn't find voice_input.wav though.

Does HLDJ work with your other games?
Copy one of your audio files, rename it to "voice_input.wav" and place it in the directory "...\SteamApps\username\Gmod". Does it play when you hit your play audio key?

as far as I know, yes. It does work with my other games. it's only garry's mod that suffers this problem.

In that case the problem is not with HLDJ, it's with your game. Normally I'd advise a re-install, but given recent topics, I think you already know what the problem is.
