HLDJ and the HL1 engine

Post by Katix »

I have been trying to get songs to work for DoD (the original) and everytime they play they sound come out distorted, even the sample song. im getting a voice_input file in steamapps/user/day fo defeat/dod/ file and it sounds good. i have a mic plugged in and ive used this on every other game i own. any ideas?

And you've made sure to download the correct sample wav (for the HL engine) right?

If so, take a look again in the sticky for the "Dual-Core Gaming fix" and see if it applies to you.

nope, no luck, still doing it. everything converted correctly and the sample is the one for hl1. when it plays it sounds like its coming from a gameboy.

Read this before posting in this section wrote:you can test it out by using one of the following sample files:Test these out on a server that is using high-quality voice settings (sv_voicecodec set to "speex" and sv_voicequality to 5).
and you've followed the instructions exactly (paying particular care to the bolded part)?
