I followed the manual put together HLDJ correctly played the game and when I go to the console it says that the HLDJ Commands are unknown?
I am a newb to HLDJ so help me!

You don't require a mic to use HLDJ.
If the HLDJ commands are "unknown" and you don't see "HLDJ successfully loaded" in console when you start the game, then chances are you've got the wrong game directory. Double-check that you've set the game up correctly in Setup, also another common thing people forget is that if you have the same game for multiple Steam, make sure the game you start in HLDJ is the correct one.
If you're still in doubt, go to your game directory, if it is a Source game, open the "cfg" folder. You can verify that HLDJ has started correctly if you see quite a few .cfg files beginning with "hldj_".
