HLDJ not playing in TF2.

Hi all.

I've been using HLDJ in TF2 for quite some time, without a hitch. I stopped playing it for a while, and now I can't use HLDJ. I haven't changed anything except installing new games.

I've looked, and yes, the voice_input.wav file is there, and yes, my files are properly converted.

On start-up of the game, I'm presented with the following:

...
Unknown command "sv_backspeed"
Unknown command "hldjsf"
Host_WriteConfiguration: Wrote cfg/hldj_cmd_a.cfg

HLDJ loaded - some files could not be written ( 1 error ) !

...followed by the rest of the HLDJ stuff.

I've even tried reinstalling both - any help?

Are you using the newest version, 1.5.0? I fixed something similar to this recently in which HLDJ would have problems generating its files if for some reason they were not properly deleted last time. In any case, you can do this yourself as well: just go to your game directory and delete any leftover "hldj_" files that may exist. Hopefully that resolves the issue, but I'm a bit skeptical since usually errors of that nature will not prevent you from playing audio if voice_input.wav is present. You may also want to check other things, such as your audio file format, and that your TF2 server has "sv_allow_voice_from_file 1"

Hm. The format is right, I have the latest version, and I am using it on servers that enable it, but still no luck.

You should really test on your own server and explicitly enable it yourself.
Did you find any "hldj_" files that needed deletion?
Also try running it as administrator. You can also deleting and re-installing HLDJ as well as the TF2 directory if that helps.

- I've tried it on my own server.
- I searched my entire steamapps folder and deleted every hldj_ file.
- I've redownloaded HLDJ twice and reinstalled TF2.

I'll try running as admin, but I doubt that'll help.

Does it still start up displaying "1 error"? I hope that's gone.
If voice_input.wav is making it to the correct location as you say and you see the "HLDJ loaded" message in console, then things should still work fine. If not, the problem is at the game and/or OS level, you'll need to ensure the settings for microphone input are properly configured in both (does your mic work regularly in game?)

Yes, it does say "HLDJ loaded", no, there are no errors, and yes, my mic works.

The only problem I can see is that voice_inputfromfile is set to 0 whenever I start it up.
