Re: No sound in TF2
TF2 is an official Steam mod (not 3rd-party) so HLDJ will find the correct directory automatically (the path you mentioned above is the same that HLDJ will use, so the alternate path setting will be ignored in this case).
Are there any error/unusual messages displayed in the console after loading a song? If not try this:
1) Open your Steam directory and do a search for "voice_input.wav"
2) Delete all results
3) Start HLDJ/TF2 and load an audio file (make sure no errors were displayed on start-up, or while loading a song)
4) perform step #1 again
5) if "voice_input.wav' is found, what is its location?
if nothing was found in #5, make sure HLDJ is still running in the background. Also make sure your audio files are in not in an obscure location (i.e. network folders, removable drives, etc may not work so well).

Hi, I have the same problem Dryck had.Renegade wrote:TF2 is an official Steam mod (not 3rd-party) so HLDJ will find the correct directory automatically (the path you mentioned above is the same that HLDJ will use, so the alternate path setting will be ignored in this case).

I did all those steps.... the voice_imput I found the second time after doing from step #1 to #4 is in steamapps/my account/team fortress 2/
I can't hear anything, all troubles started when I reinstalled TF2 (but I really had to because it kept freezing after 5 minutes of gameplay)
The Audio folder isn't empty, I have all my CORRECTLY CONVERTED .WAV FILES, converted following the guide perfectly.
Before I could play without problems, but now all I hear when I press my DEL button (the button I selected for play/stop the audio in HLDJ) are the game sounds echoed unlimited times (but this echo disappears if I disable my Stereo Mix from the Windows audio configuration).
I also tried to setup all HLDJ again from beginning but nothing, please help me, TF2 surfing servers are so boring without good music and jokes

Re: No sound in TF2
Sounds like HLDJ ir working fine, try running it on your own server.
Re: No sound in TF2
Nevermind, I got it to work downloading the version 1.5.0 !!!!
I don't know why but now works perfectly (even if sometimes doesn't work but I type in console:
exec hldj_init and then
hldj_restart
and works)
Thanks anyway, hoping not, when I'll have some problems I'll ask instead doing like I did on my poor HLDJ, making more troubles lol

Re: No sound in TF2
I'd double check your autoexec.cfg isn't marked read-only, it seems HLDJ is having problems writing to it, or the game reading from it.
Re: No sound in TF2
Do I have to make it read-only?
I just saw it.... the read-only box isn't marked.

Re: No sound in TF2
No. If everything's working fine, HLDJ will append "exec hldj_init.cfg" to your autoexec when a game is started, then the game should read this line and exec hldj_init.cfg for you. So if this isn't happening it's either a problem with the autoexec (you can verify its contents after starting a game in HLDJ) or the game simply refuses to read the autoexec config (in which case you should re-install).
