Music often fails to play.

Hi. For the longest time there have been problems with switching sounds. Like, I'll select a sound and when i play it it sort of repeats the sounds i'm hearing from the game itself and becomes all distorted and causes much ear rape. I've also noticed trouble switching between sounds sometimes, it'll not load properly and just play the last sound. Could anyone please tell me how to fix these? (PLEASE help with the first one)
