HLDJ Doesn't make any noise.

I installed everything and converted audio in the way described, when i get into any game i have it linked to hldj successfully loads and is working, i am able to load the wav files. i join a server and load a file, press my start key, and it displays my name as if i am talking, but there is no sound on my end and no one can hear anything either. There are no error messages displaying in console either.

So everything is in the correct setup, but i'm just getting no sound. help.

I tried a test WAV and it worked. its weird because Im fairly sure I converted my audio correctly, I have a little different version of audacity the 11025 is not selectable at the botton, but i can type it in, also there is only option to export, then i select the file type as WAV, other than that everything is the same, I dont know what im doing wrong with it, any help would be nice.





I read the sticky as you suggested, not sure this will identify a problem but,
I am mainly trying to use this with Gmod, so everything i post here will apply to that. (it doesnt work in other games as well but im not concerned)

1 HLDJ doesn't launch gmod itself, but im using the workaround by disabling launch in HLDJ

2 HLDJ loads successfully i get that message in console when i start up gmod and everything checks out, no errors or anything

3 HLDJ loads the songs that i try to load i get this:
Host_WriteConfiguration: Wrote cfg/hldj_cmd_b.cfg
Loaded : Zombie Nation - Kernkraft 400

4 The voice input.WAV shows up in steam/steamapps/me/garrysmod

5 I have a mic, sound always works through it i can talk to people and i can hear them.

Not sure if this will help you or not, i have noticed that i cannot use my mic if i plug it in after connecting to a server
HLDJ is running from before i start gmod however.

If the test wav's work, you have your answer: it's a conversion problem. One thing to note is if the file contains metadata like artist, track, or album info you will need to clear this; Audacity will give you an option to do this during the export process.

Oh, I didn't know HLDJ couldn't handle metadata, that's an easy fix thank you.

Just to clarify - HLDJ can handle any file, but it's the game that requires a specific format.
