CS:S With No sound. LAN & ON-LINE

OK here is my story,

First of all read all of what I am saying before you post as it would probably not help.

OK I am a frequent CS:S player and I play a lot of surf.
It can be very boring without music so this is why I want to use HLDJ

1) I have converted all my music .mp3 files to .wav files
2) I could successfully load CS:S using HLDJ
3) I type 'la' and then select the .wav music file
4) I go onto my own LAN server and press my play/stop key
5) My name comes up but no sound, only the surrounding and the sound of my computer.

I have read multiple posts on other peoples threads and they don't work.

So please post some fresh ideas.

Test with the sample audio files found on the downloads page and follow all applicable guidelines in the forum sticky/rules.

I'll try that but I have tried another file and failing.
I'll try the sample file.

But what I was thinking if the sample audio works how would my files work after that?

Also do you have to type 'apply' for it to play because if you do I haven't

Okay, you don't need to say apply and the sample file works maybe my converter is not working.
Yesterday I downloaded a direct .wav file and the sound came out as iakhsjldfkjhb.fkjgdsfk.,fjhlkdfjb.ds,fjhlsafdkjhsa.kfjbdskfjgdskfjb.

why does this happen...

I heard what its supposed to be.
