Can't play anything on CSS

Post by MrDoorby »

Hey I just installed the new hldj. I've used it for quite some time now, tho I never reinstalled it til now after going from Windows 7 beta to retail

Now my issue is the speaker icon (showing you your playing..) is showing up but no sound! Now your going to refer me to the rules.

1. Yes the game launched correctly.
2. Yes it shows it has been loaded, with just a
exec hldj_custom.cfg: file size larger than 20MB. error (doesnt seem like it would affect it..)
3.

Code: Select all

] 35
Host_WriteConfiguration: Wrote cfg/hldj_cmd_b.cfg
Loaded : smb_mariodie
] hldjn
execing hldj_nextaudio.cfg
Loaded: smb_stage_clear
Host_WriteConfiguration: Wrote cfg/hldj_cmd_c.cfg
4. The sample file doesn't even play.
5. Voice works just fine for me.

Now I investigated further in and noticed this.
Image

0 bytes + It has the arrow for a shortcut on it, huh? Also notice in the bottom bar it shows Length 00:00:05 which is the actual length of the file i was trying to play.

It seems to me thats the issue with it not playing anything.

I'm running it as admin so it should have access.. Strange. Am I the only person with this issue?

Also just to add it in i'm using Windows 7 and I used the newest version of Goldwave to convert my files.

I've seen other topics with the same issue but all of them refer to the rules :\ Any help would be appreciated, or If I'm stupid and overlooked something point it out :|

EDIT: Should add that i just tried Audacity to try and convert, no luck.

Hardlinking is used to speed up file access instead of straight copying to voice_input.wav, this is why you'll see the shortcut arrow and 0kb size (it's a link). In most cases this shouldn't cause a problem, although I do recall fixing a problem that would cause the message you got on execing hldj_custom.cfg (the link being broken). Download the latest beta version of HLDJ then try testing the sample audio on your own local server. Hopefully it was just that one build.
