No sound in Garry's Mod.

For a while now, I have been unable to play any sound in Garry's Mod. It is updated, the sounds are correct format, etc.

I was able to play music a before, but now I cannot. I changed nothing I know of that would interfere with HLDJ. The server admins have not disabled it, because other players have been able to use HLDJ fine. The icon indicating that my microphone is transmitting audio is appearing, HLDJ is loading, but sound doesn't play.

1) Does HLDJ launch the game correctly for you?
No, it launches the SDK, but it has done this as long as I have had it and it worked fine when I loaded Garry's Mod manually.

2) Does "HLDJ Loaded Successfully" appear in console on starting the game (with no errors)?
"HLDJ loaded - some files could not be written ( 1 error ) !" It says nothing else, so I have no idea what to do about it. However, it has shown "(1 error)" in the past, but has played audio fine so I thought nothing of it.

3) What is the console output after selecting a song, or issuing other HLDJ commands such as "hldj_next"?

4) After loading one of the sample audio files, perform a search of your Steam directory (without stopping HLDJ) for the file "voice_input.wav" - does it show up, and if so, where?
Yes, in my "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\<steamname>\garrysmod" folder, "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\<steamname>\garrysmod\garrysmod\" folder, and my "C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\<steamname>\team fortress 2" folder.

5) Does voice normally work for you? If not, or you do not have a mic, have you remembered to set up any applicable options in your OS and/or the game?
As long as my microphone is plugged in, it works. (Without it, I cannot use HLDJ in any game) However, it is damaged, but that usually does not have any effect on audio play.

The 1 error (unrelated) is probably resolved by deleting any leftover .hldj or hldj_ files you find in your game's "cfg" directory (or generally anywhere they appear in the Steam directory). It can happen if you launch two instances of HLDJ; duplicate files are created that cause problems later on.

What is odd is that voice_input.wav is showing up in two places in gmod, which means one is the wrong place and probably the one you are using. Go into HLDJ's Setup and check if there is more than one entry for gmod. If so, delete all others other than the correct one, which should have its game path pointing to C:\...\garrysmod\garrysmod

If this resolves the problem, it would be helpful if you could screenshot the contents of both the ...\garrysmod directory and the ...\garrysmod\garrysmod directory so I can prevent the incorrect one from being added.

I have the same problem. Whenever I try to play a song it will turn voice_loopback to 1 and I'll only hear myself. Which is not what it's supposed to be doing. It's supposed to play the music which it did until only recently.
I also start garrysmod manually and the gamepath is pointing to \garrysmod\garrysmod. It's pretty much everything the same as OP.

It's the same with me. I think A new update to gmod might have broken it or something.
