not sure if this is HLDJ related but...

Post by Riku »

Apparently I can't use a mic in CS 1.6 Whatsoever

I keep getting this error

Unable to initialize DirectSoundCapture. Trying waveIn.A device ID has been used that is out of range for your system.
Unable to initialize wave input. You won't be able to speak to other players through a microphone

anyone have an idea on this one?

I'm gonna go to steam help too and ask a couple tech friends I know

Yes, that's the part I refer to as "set[ting] up any applicable options in your operating system and/or the game?" in the sticky. It varies for operating system, though most users find simply plugging in a microphone (or anything) into the input jack resolves the issue. If you do not have one, are on Windows Vista/7 you'll likely need to enable your recording device through Sound Properties->Recording Options (google or steam can help with this).
