voice_input.wav not appearing

Post by uggron »

I've had this problem too (ever since you fixed that other one in my thread), and have been watching this thread for a while, hoping for a solution.
Z4nn4h didn't mention (if you even knew?) that the 1.5.05b version of HLDJ doesn't have this problem.
You seem to have changed yet another thing you shouldn't have :P
Anyways, I hope this helps you narrow it down sooner.

I'd need more info before I can investigate further. If voice_input.wav is indeed showing up in the correct folder ("common\left 4 dead 2") then HLDJ is most likely functioning properly, but a game setting could be preventing playback.

It actually doesn't for me. Perhaps that's the whole problem after all? I can see where it shows up with 1.5.05b, but it's not there (and not anywhere else) when running any version of 1.6.
I can provide screenshots if necessary.

Here's a debug build. Run the attached binary from your regular HLDJ folder, then load a file (make note of whether you observe voice_input.wav or not). If you could then message me or upload your hldj.log it would be helpful, thanks.

Follow-up: this problem has been resolved. The issue was determined to be with other applications having voice_input.wav open causing file access problems

Please note, when using HLDJ you should refrain from having applications (other than HLDJ and the game) read or write your audio files while they are loaded; keep this in mind especially if the audio converter is running while you use HLDJ.
