Installing HLDJ on a Mac

Post by Hoboapple »

Here is what I have done:

1. Downloaded HLDJ, latest beta.
2. Open with Crossover.
3. Follow all of the steps in getting started.
4. Has correct directory (Y:\Library\Application Support\Steam\SteamApps\Hoboapple\team fortress 2\tf)
5. Doesn't work.

One thing I noticed is that it doesn't launch the game when pressing the play button. I realize that this wasn't made for the mac, so if you can't help me that's fine. :D

If you want any more details, just reply.

If this is something specific to your platform, it may be helpful to share your solution with other Mac users.

Well, I figured that the actual files that were placed in tf2 were universal, so I used crossover to open up hldj and navigated to the mac tf2 folder. It set it up in there. However, when I tried to start it, no signs of hldj were present in tf2. So crossover didn't work for installing hldj. However, when I booted to my windows partition and installed it from there, it worked. The only thing I had to do was open up hldj in crossover, and it allowed it to work. However after the recent update it seems to not be working anymore. I'll experiment some.

If it's the alpha, pre-7, it might have been due to lack of permissions, this is fixed in alpha 7.
