HLDJ not working at all on Windows 7...

Post by qebafhzn »

...Yes, I've tried both the alpha, stable and legacy versions, and yes, I did set it to run as administrator. All it seems to do it make a .lnk file that leads to it, but doesn't seem to play when I press the button. I understand how that works, but hear me again, setting it to run as an administrator does not work at all. Does anyone know what to do?

Edit: Numbers 1, 2, 3, and 5 are true in http://hldj.org/forums/viewtopic.php?p=21#p21, but 4 is not true, it only creates a .lnk file.

Links were disabled in the "stable" alpha7 build, so you shouldn't be seeing a .lnk when using that version. In any case, if you open the link file and it plays the intended audio file, chances are the game will do this too, and then likely the link isn't the problem.

Verify this by not using HLDJ, and instead manually copying one of your audio files to the directory where the link shows up, renaming it to "voice_input.wav", and enter the following into console:

Code: Select all

"voice_inputfromfile 1; voice_forcemicrecord 0; voice_loopback 1; +voicerecord"
Does this start playing the audio file? If not, then it is a problem with the game/server.

Yeah, that... actually doesn't work.
However, I tried deleting the whole "team fortress" directory and starting from scratch, but it didn't seem to do anything...
