Sever quality settings and bass?

Are there any particular voice settings for counter strike source that will make the quality of sound better? My friends has a server and when I gave him the commands:
sv_voicecodec voice_speex
sv_voicequality 5
he said that 1 of them wouldnt work. Are there certain commands that will work for a better quality of voice?

Also, some of my files are loud and don't come out clear, do I need to lower the bass/volume of them? If so do I have to do 1 at a time?

Source servers use speex by default, so the first command is for HL1 only. Other than that, transmit volume, and the settings HLDJ already takes care of, that's about it in terms of commands.

How many you can convert at a time depends on the editor, but I don't believe Audacity currently supports batch editing.
