Hello,
I am a complete novice to most of this, but I am good enough at following guides and I have managed to convert a few audio files successfully using Audacity. However my most recent attempt to convert some mp3s to .WAV causes the song to "stretch out" and become much longer than the original track, severely distorting the sound. This happens when I select 8000hz converting the mp3 in this case from 44100hz. Is there any way to correct/counter-act this? Thanks.

See the guide: http://www.hldj.org/manual/tips_tricks. ... udioformat
the latest audacity may look slightly different, but note where the rate is changed (project rate)
