Unknown Command?

Post by Aki-Fox »

I've been using HLDJ for quite a while now, and recently imported and converted correctly around 80 or so full-length songs into the folder I use for HLDJ, because a clan I am a member of is holding a party, and I am DJ-ing. However, now that Ive launched HLDJ, commands set for HLDJ itself work fine, such as la, etc. However, using commands such a 1, 2, or 3 to select a song provides an "Unknown Error" output in the console? I would appreciate your help. :D

1) Does HLDJ launch the game correctly for you?

-Yes

2) Does "HLDJ Loaded Successfully" appear in console on starting the game (with no errors)?

-1 error

3) What is the console output after selecting a song, or issuing other HLDJ commands such as "hldj_next"?

-Explained Above

4) After loading one of the sample audio files, perform a search of your Steam directory (without stopping HLDJ) for the
file "voice_input.wav" - does it show up, and if so, where?

-No

5) Does voice normally work for you? If not, or you do not have a mic, have you remembered to set up any applicable options in your operating system and/or the game?

-Yes, I have a set up Mic

You mean "unknown command"? If so, then likely hldj_listaudio.cfg was not created (it could be the '1 error') or created empty (your audio directory could not be read). You can search for this file in your game directory to see if it exists, then check its contents. Also, verify that your audio directory is correct, valid, and contains audio files.

There are some screenshots to help explain my problem.

If the number aliases are not working likely Quick-Select is disabled (or possibly some other script is overwriting them). It should be enabled by default, but you can verify this in the advanced options for the game in HLDJ's Setup. You can also verify this by checking the existence and contents of 'hldj_quickselect.cfg'. If all is fine, lastly make sure no other script/server is overwriting the number aliases.

On a (usually) unrelated note, you can get rid of that '1 error' by deleting any "hldj_" or ".hldj" files that may have been left in the game's directory after stopping HLDJ.
