Issue: I get on TF2 through HLDJ, choose my song, and then go to a server that allows HLDJ. I press the key that plays the song, (F1) but nothing happens!
From Sticky:
1) Does HLDJ launch the game correctly for you? Yes.
2) Does "HLDJ Loaded Successfully" appear in console on starting the game (with no errors)?
There is these couple lines of text that I believe that looks like an error:
Unknown command "hldjsf"
Host_WriteConfiguration: Wrote cfg/hldj_cmd_a.cfg
Otherwise, I believe there were no errors.
3) What is the console output after selecting a song, or issuing other HLDJ commands such as "hldj_next"?
Host_WriteConfiguration: Wrote cfg/hldj_cmd_d.cfg
Loaded : Ignis Flamus
4) After loading one of the sample audio files, perform a search of your Steam directory (without stopping HLDJ) for the file "voice_input.wav" - does it show up, and if so, where?
It does show up. It does so here: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\[User]\team fortress 2
5) Does voice normally work for you? If not, or you do not have a mic, have you remembered to set up any applicable options in your operating system and/or the game?
Yes, voice does normally work for me, although I barely even use it to talk.
Attempts to fix HLDJ:
Reinstalling HLDJ didn't work.
I checked the Control Panel and Sound then Recording, everything is enabled.
I did other stuff, I forgot what it was I did, but it didn't work either.
Please help me out as soon as possible if you have the time! Thank you!
HLDJ used to work for me, now it isn't!

Test on your own server that allows HLDJ, using the sample audio files.
Play "voice_input.wav" in an audio player, is it the song that you just loaded?

Without running HLDJ, copy, rename and paste one of the sample audio files as "voice_input.wav" into the directory where you saw it created earlier (...steamapps\<usernmane>\team fortress 2).
Start your own server with voice input from file allowed and enter the following into console:
This will manually trigger audio playback of voice_input.wav. If this does not work, something is wrong with your game and/or cvars, and you might try re-installing, or taking a look at your "voice_" cvars.
Start your own server with voice input from file allowed and enter the following into console:
Code: Select all
voice_inputfromfile 1; voice_loopback 1; voice_enable 1; voice_modenable 1; +voicerecord
